D-DAY REMEMBERED
The 75th Anniversary of D-Day celebrations that took place in the summer of 2019 must surely go down as one of the most remarkable tales of airmanship and endeavour of recent aviation times. The bringing together of men, women and machines to pay tribute to the D-Day efforts will never be forgotten.
The air-to-air with the D-Day Squadron participants (the US contingent) was surely one of the most challenging, rewarding and historically significant shoots I have ever undertaken but the results were worth every ounce of effort. Here, a three-ship of C-47s (including D-Day Veterans 'That's All Brother' and 'Placid Lassie') form up for some incredible flying along the white cliff coastline of England (the Seven Sisters, near Beachy Head). Epic.
