CONNIE IN THE STARS

The Lockheed Constellation is surely one of the most graceful, enigmatic designs ever to have flown. This example is the L759 variant, designated a VC-121A ('Columbine', 48-614, 7167th Special Air Missions Squadron, Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany), where it was used as a VIP transport by Dwight D. Eisenhower whilst at SHAPE in the 1950s. It resides at the brilliant Pima Air & Space Museum where this was taken on a highly productive night shoot at this world class establishment.
